In Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Huck, the protagonist, Huck, is greatly influenced by four people: Widow Douglas, Tom Sawyer, Pap, and Jim.
Window Douglas Influences Huck by teaching him about right from wrong. Huck start to think about how he should do something because it's right by the law, but he also makes decisions based on what he feels in his heart is right and wrong. "I knowed very well that i had done wrong." p.69
Tom Sawyer Influences Huck in the adventurous way. When ever Huck goes to make a decision, Huck wonders what Tom sawyer would do or think about it. A lot of the time, it almost gets Huck into trouble. "Do you reckon Tom Sawyer would ever go by this thing?" p.50
Pap Influences Huck just by being an abusive alcoholic. Huck would always rather do something else than to be drunk, even if he was in pain. Huck is also pretty nice to people and has never done anything to physically hurt someone for his own enjoyment. "but I'd druther been bit with a snake than pap's whisky." p.40
Jim Influences Huck by being kind and caring. Jim also thinks it is not nice to play tricks on people. Huck tries to be nice to people and help them in his own way, even if that person may not deserve it. Huck is also influenced by Jim's superstition. He thinks that certain things cause bad luck, and there are certain ways to get rid of the bad luck. "It made me feel so mean i could almost kissed his foot to get him to take it back" p.65
Without these key influences in his life, Huck would be a very different person.

Post1: Huck Finn Response (Ch.1-Ch.12)
So far in the first 12 chapters of Huck Finn, a lot has happened. At first Huck is living with the Widow Douglas and has 6 thousand dollars. Huck's dad hears about the money and comes to get it from Huck. Huck already gave the money to the judge, so it is technically judge thatchers money now. Huck's dad kidnaps Huck and takes him across the Mississippi river and they live in a cabin. Huck's dad is a drunk and kind of abusive. Huck Escapes the cabin and goes down stream to Jackson island in a canoe her found floating down the river. When Huck escaped his dad had left for town and Huck faked his death. He finds that his Slave friend Jim, is also a runaway and they stick together.
In the first 12 chapters, the book is pretty good. It gets boring sometimes, but you always want to know whats going to happened next, which keeps you awake and still reading. I like that there are interesting parts of the book even though some are boring and kinda ramble. I don't like that sometimes the wording is just way too southern for reading! Of mice and men was a little more interesting than Huck Finn is so far.
